Dr. Thorpe (right), accompanied by Professor Aurore Perrin (left), participated in a musical conference as part of the Saint Patrick's Day Festival organised on the ULCO campus in Dunkerque, France. The festival was spearheaded by Dr. Deborah Vandewoode and co-organised by undergraduate students enrolled in the Applied Foreign Languages degree programme.
They performed Irish songs in front of colleagues and other esteemed guests, with themes touching on the importance of one's homeland, maritime life, peace, and ambition.

Dr. Thorpe (left) presented her Paper titled "Jamaica and Educational and Language Policies in the Colonial and Postcolonial Eras" at the 2026 Edition of the International Conference (Se) former en langues : des politiques éducatives et linguistiques aux classes de langues. The conference was co-organised by Inspé de Lille and the Université du Littoral Cote d'Opale. The panel was presided by Prof. Emilie Perrichon (right).
